Zero Water 23 cup dispenser unit
I too bought a Zero Water container and filter at a Bed Bath and Beyond in Ontario Canada, and at first was pleased with it. Checked the level constantly. The second filter levels read okay one day but overnight there was a horrible odour and taste. Changed filters but it never worked properly. The new design of filter doesnt allow the water to percolate through well, it gets blocked (I am using City treated tap water in it The filters are expensive and I have to travel quite a ways to get the filters. I want my money back, I too would rather have a Briita!!! $44.99 Canadaian plus 3x 34.99 filters

Nasty!
I purchased this item recently and it is not worth the money! The first one cracked and the second one smells like nasty rotten fish. I'm returning it right away and going back to my britta ! I thought it was the cup so I tried another one. I threw away my existing water bottle thinking it was the problem. I even cleaned out my refrigerator today. The culprit is the nasty zero water filter. I tested the water today as well and it looked normal. Taking it apart was so smelly. It's a good thing that I kept the box.

Bad Tasting Water
We purchased our 23 cup ZW dispenser thinking that since we drink a lot of water the larger dispenser was perfect. This was really the selling point for us. We followed all the directions cleaning, and securing filter to make sure that our water was going to read at 000. The first time we filled the dispenser the water tasted clean and crisp, read at 000, we were happy. Went to re-fill for the second time and as it seems we are not the only one with the UNBEARABLE tasting water. Plastic, sour, bitter, just BAD! We were a little lazy and thought...ok it must be an old filter or we did something wrong. Went out and bought a 2 pack of filters and this time I was able to fill the dispenser TWICE. Third time around, we're back to the disgusting taste. I've filed a complaint to ZW prior to wr this. I couldn't find anywhere the amount of water we would typically be able to dispense with a single filter which is crazy. Has anyone else heard back from ZW and what happened???

Zero water pitcher
My husband and I bought a zero water pitcher a few months back. It cost more than another Brita, and the cartridges are more expensive. Must be better right? Wrong after a few months our water started tasting like it had soap in it. Cleaned out the water, still yuck. Spent thr $ and got another filter, still doesn't taste right. My husband complains about the taste so much he will hardly drink water from it. Plus the lid doesn't stay on well at all. It has a spout but is super slow. You can't hardly pick it up when it is full.

Sour water
After only two weeks I am totally dissatisfied with my Zero Water pitcher/filter. Even though the test meter still reads "000" the water has developed a strong sour taste. Prior to this we were using a Brita pitcher and the water had a much better taste. I question the validity of the test meter as I tested different water sources in the house (kitchen, bathroom, and from the Brita) and the readings were different between the kitchen and bathroom. The reading from the Brita were considerably lower. When I tested the first run of water from the Zero pitcher it read "000". This made me very suspicious as all other manufacturers say that you should run at least a couple of gallons through the filter to get maximum filtration benefits.

Sour tasting water
i wish I had read complains before I purchase the Zero filter system. While visiting my parents who moved to a retirement community in Laguna Woods CA, I bought the Zero water filter last November for them thinking the $35 filter pitcher with a test unit would be better than Brita, which is what I have used for last three years. A week after I left my parents to return to the east coast, my parents told me they cant drink the water because it tasted sour. However, they did not return the pitcher to Target where I purchased the pitcher/filter in question. When i recently visited them again during the holiday period in December, I bought another filter, thinking it was a faulty filter (I didn't return the pitcher because too much time had elapsed.). However, after only a week my parents complained again. I think there is something very seriously wrong with the filter. Those who disparage others posting complaints have no right to do that. There cannot be so many similar complaints.

STRONG FISHY ODOR AND TASTE
We bought a Zero water Filter from Bed Bath and Beyond just recently thinking if we spent a little bit more we would get a better product. We were concerned about the cost of the filters and were worried of how often we would have to be replacing them. About 2 months after having the filter I noticed a fishy odor coming from what I thought was our ice maker. Then I blamed the water from the faucet. After it drove me crazy for a week I found that it was the filtered water from the ZERO filter. It was soooo fowl. The meter only read about 20. I am confused as to why a Brita filter has NEVER done this. My husband and I think the ZERO filter is a gimmick and has something in the filter that forces you to buy their filters. We threw the stinky filter away and will NOT be replacing it. We are going to try to return it, if we cant we will take the loss. This was a RIP OFF and we were very disappointed. BTW, bottled Ozarka water measured 34. I'll take that over a stinky 20 from the ZERO filter.

Fish smell from the just bought filter
I bought a Zero table top filter expecting it to be better than Brita (that I was using for 5 years) the first filter worked good and was happy with it, but within a week it started smelling bad. Thought the filter is bad as per the measurement tool provided... bought a brand new filter pack from Bed, Bath and Beyond and installed a new one and to my surprise this one is also smelling very bad (a rotten fish). Not sure if I should be returning it to the store stating the reason, for I have opened the filter and used it. Back to my original Brita now. On google search I found many similar issue reported by many users... and not sure why no action was taken by the manufacturer.

Zero Water seriously questionable
I bought the Zero Water unit after tasting some in San Francisco, and was curious to see how it would do at our home in Oregon. The filter did not last even 30 days before the TDS guage registered 006 and the water had a sour taste. I changed the filter and it tasted better, but again the filter did not last more than a couple of weeks. Because we are on a well with high particulates, we have a whole house filtration unit. I also prefiltered the water this time, but it made no difference. Before attempting to purchase more of the expensive filters, I decided to push this one further and put the Zero Water water through a Pur filter, which took out the lemon-y taste, but after a few days, I detected a fishy odor. Whatever their cute little "TDS tester" measures, possibly does not include certain chemicals and/or toxins. Perhaps the filter works for particulates, but may be releasing harmful toxins or growing harmful bacteria as the filtration material reaches maximum capacity. This product should be taken off the shelves until they've done further research.

I have used Zero Water Filters for about 2 years, I like their filtration system but have had to return several of the filters to Amazon for the following reasons: Water will not pass thru the filter, even after I make a few holes with a toothpick (Zero Water told me to do this). My second complaint on the filter- two in the same box had black specks all over, like the contents had leaked. Hoping that Zero Water will make improvements... I have no other details, so will say blah, blah, blah to make 100 word count. Never heard of such a thing...

I'm sure glad i found this site before i shopped for a new water filter system. I just moved to farm last December and the water here has a high iron bacteria count.
I've been using a brita for many years and it takes out the rotten egg smell right out of this water. I was thinking after seeing the zerowater commercial that it must be better. ***, they even supply you with a meter to check it with(and your brita or tap water).
I have a hard time believing someone would have it in for zerowater so bad that they would take the time to savagely attack them by posting under different names with 2 distinct problems. I think i'll stick with my brita.
The filters last a long time and all they do is filter water slowler and slower.
They don't smell or taste bad and they certainly don't make me sick. Also, there is a no name filter for the brita that works just as well and costs much less.

I have been using zero water for years and it's been great. The filter would last for at least 5-6 months before the tester would go above 000. It worked without a problem and I loved it. The last filters I just bought have a new design and after 2 weeks they don't allow the water to come down. The water just sits at the top base of the pitcher. They changed the design of the filter and it effected the way it works. I hope they do a recall and change them back to normal. I am very disappointed to say the least. Thank you in advance.
