Love it!

I bought the 2.5. gallon tank for my fridge and loved it so much that I bought one for work as well. I never smelled the filters, so I can't speak to the fishy smell some people are complaining about, I only care what the water tastes like (or doesn't taste like). The only time I notice any kind of taste is when the filter needs to be changed--then it tastes a little "rubbery" to me. Otherwise water tastes fresh, clean and very refreshing. When the water is clean tasting, I tend to drink more of it, hence why I bought one for work. I also like that they recycle their filters.

*** design

Why they decided not to utilize a standard pipe thread (how the replaceable filter attaches to the receiver within the pitcher) is beyond belief. After about 50 attemps to properly seat the filter (with the O-ring provided) I contacted customer service which had no solution. If the filter is not seated properly, water leaks around the filter and you are drinking un-filtered tap water. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt so it's headed to the landfill. They could have at least constructed the pitcher with recycleable plastic so it could be re-born as a plastic water bottle. Total waste of money.

You need to place the black ring under the grooves of the filter so it sits ontop of the black ring and therefore doesnt allow water to seep though.

That doesn't work either!

Duh. Unfortunately, the filter won't screw in far enough to rest on the black ring.

Fishy product, sick customer

Have had this system for 4 months. Within 2 weeks, the filter goes bad & the water tastes & smells like dead fish. I change it regularly, & we are on city water that is not all that bad (but we're health conscious so wanted to go the extra step.) I started getting sick - bloating and stomach problems. But, I couldn't believe it was the filter. Plus, w/ the cost, am I going to toss & put a new one in after just 2 weeks? Called the company and they were super rude, dumb comments like change it more often. Finally, my husband tossed the whole thing out. We switched to Pur. No problems, bloating & nausea gone. I'm going big time w/ my complaints b/c it's everywhere on the Internet. We bought it thinking b/c it was more expensive, it had to be scientifically better (5 stages!) geez...wrong, wrong.

did you ever think your tap water was just THAT bad...?!?! sheesh do your homework.

What city you live in? 8)

Yeah dude, I do my homework. Our tap water is tested by our city regularly & it is "acceptable" by our state guidelines (I work at the county so I'm not ***.) We don't like the fluoride, plus we just want to, as I said in my review, go the next step to drink the best water we can.

Obviously, if others are "pissed" here, and there's enough of an issue not only on this message board but numerous threads elsewhere, it's not my bad city water nor my ignorance.

Sheesh.

FILTER SMELLS LIKE DEAD FISH

After only filtering about a gallon of tap water, I noticed that the water smelled like fish. Upon further examination I found the top of the filter stunk even worse. I am returning this entire purchase to Wal-Mart for a full refund. This is absolutely the worst filtering system I have ever purchased. The little 'meter' they enclosed showed a red light (meaning the filter was already worn out) the first day I used it. So it seems that the entire system is either a joke or completely defective. I'll be going back to bottled water and probably stay with that product!

Stomach cramps, metallic taste

I drink a lot of bottled water, pretty much any brand. I was very excited to get a Zero Water for Fathers Day.

After I made my first pitcher and drank some, my tongue had tingling/burning sensation. I thought it was me at first. My wife used the Zero Water to make sun tea and she ended up with a nasty tasting tea. I continued to drink the Zero water for a few days and ended up with stomach cramps.

I made up approximately ten gallons with the unit. It is going back to Bed Bath and Beyond.

Will I get anything back...probably not, but it is good to know that I will not have this piece of junk in my home. This is the first time I have ever complained about a product.

Zerowater Bad Water Review from Killeen, Texas

I bought the zerowater from eBay. When I got it set up, I could tell a difference between the taste of the water before and after. However, within about a month the water began having a fishy taste. I contacted zero water and told them about the taste and they said by filter was bad. I bought for more filters from them and installed 2 of the filters. The taste improved but the filters only lasted about 90 days before the water began tasting bad. I replaced the filters and the water tasted good for about another 90 days. When I called Zerowater about my issue, I was told that the life of the filter depended on how bad my water was. I have spent over $200 dollars in less than a year with Zerowater and wish I would have just went with Brita or something else. I am very disappointed with how short of life the water filters have and the bad taste they give off when they are bad. For the price, the filters should last a minimum of 4 months.

Water Tastes Different [ I guess more acidic] After two months

I thought it must be wrong with the filter I bought, and got two more to try if it was one off thing, but all three has a similar pattern. After a month or so the water tastes dramatically different and more acidic. Very unhappy with the product. I wish to never buy this until they can prove me other wise. I sincerely hope to get my money back from the company. I am surprised that people in Walmart / Bed Bath and Beyond are carrying such a misleading and phoney product. I wish some one in this country sues them.

Waiting three weeks and counting for my filter order

Absolutely no customer service. No answer to emails sent. The FAQ's are so lame all they are is a commercial for the product, not answering customers questions like where's my order? You are just as bad requiring 100 words for a review? You should be reviewed. not only that but no word counter so I have to keep counting my words to fulfill your insane 100 word requirement. Zerowater- Water Disgusting Acidic Taste & Stomach Ache

I've had the pitcher for a while, tried several filters all with the same result. Filter always goes bad quickly, after a couple of weeks and begins to make a disgustingly acidic tasting, bad smelling water. During my most recent use of the product I accidentally drank some of the foul acidic water recently and have been suffering for it for days with abdominal pain and bloating. The symptoms developed within hours and have been progressing.

Interestingly this conversation came up with my sister. She too has been using the Zerowater pitcher and suffers from frequent bouts of GI distress and a skin rash that have no known cause after many visits with specialists. After reading the complaints which document these same problems here you can bet I will NEVER use the product again. And I'm encouraging her to throw hers away as well.

Water smells like oil

I purchased a Zerowater kit a few months back was impressed with the water, espeicaly the taste. After the filter was finished I went and bougth a new filter. This new filter tasted like oil or gasy,so I tested the water with the tester, water tested 005. I then ran water through it 5 times before the water tested 001,It still tasted funny so I went back to using my Brita witch I had for years.I paid good money for your product, a Brita filter is half the price of yours,so now I use yours for my plants {hope they don,t die}.I drank a glass of yours and got the runs, why is this so. P.S was a believer.
