Zero Water Sucks

Yes it works. Makes tap water taste great. Two weeks after I bought this for $36 (plus another one for a friend) the filters were fucatta. Two freaking weeks. The 6 month old water filter on my refrigerator still gives water with a decent taste. Granted it gives said water at 210 parts per whatever according to the tester, but at least it doesn't give water that taste like a skunk ***. Best of all I don't have to buy another $34 replacement filter every 2 skunk *** smelling weeks. Thus zero water sucks in a major way.

"210 parts per whatever" "water that taste like a skunk ***" Well, clearly you've done your research, and your claims are very realistic. I'm more concerned about the fact that you know what a skunks *** tastes like in comparison. If I were you though, I'd be looking for a skunk with a wet ***, and a serious personal issue with you...

Fill the reservoir and then use a chopstick in the center hole to gently prod the burp out. Do not prod to hard or you will ruin the filter. Several pushes on the chopstick and Voila water running thru the filter as if it were new.

Thank you for the comment about the vapor lock, This happened to me also, probably because of the proximity of placement next to the coffee machine. I raised the lid up approx 1/8 of an inch to let air escape and the reservoir drained in about an hour. This only cost me one filter.

Design of water pitcher sucks!

The zero water filtration system is nice, but the design of the pitcher is bad. I have a heck of a time getting the lid on it. Also, the seam in the plastic on the inside of the handle is sharp. It hurts and feels like it could cut my hand. I cannot afford to buy another system. I am not a happy customer when it comes to the pitcher. The filtration works well. My tap water was 184. With zero, of course it was 000. They need to get a lid to fit and go on easier. Also, a smooth handle would be great.

So true.

Could not agree with you more! The design of this pitcher is a joke!

You can't get the top off without a struggle AND it's top heavy so pitchers of water will fall over.

There is no way the designers of this pitcher could not see this! Save your packaging and receipt.

#551210

I am having the same difficulty. The lid will not stay on the pitcher and mine does not have a spigot so I have to leave the lid off.

The little plastic flip top only lasted one day! Love the water, hate the pitcher.

Jug lid design gets an F

So far it is filtering fine, but the design of the lid is ridiculous. It doesn't seat itself easily at all. The lip is tiny and you can't get it into a groove to get the lid to stay on. You go to pour and it falls off. If not that, then the pouring flap fails to open and water goes everywhere. And you can't see through the lid to see if the water is done running through. Dumb, dumb and dumb. As far as I can tell, the filter works fine, but I've only had it a few days.

Though I haven't had all the difficulties with the 64 oz pitcher lid as reported by Fuzzz, I too have noticed a problem getting the rear of the lid to seal or seat perfectly. It insists on riding a few millimeters higher than the lid's front portion.

As much as I try to seat the lid perfectly with pitcher, after I release my pressure, the lid, almost magically, rides up 2-3 mm. No reasonable & safe amount of pressure eliminates or attenuates the problem.

Zero water = zero satisfaction!

bought pitcher filter package. took many, many cleanings to get filter to read 000. after 6 - 7 fillings, it read -011 & the water tasted foul! bought new filter. cannot get pitcher to read 000 - it reads 008. this is a very expensive waste of money. each filter costs $16. still cannot get filter to read 000 in pitcher no matter how many times i clean it! sure, my water reads 344 to start, but this system is too expensive, too fussy, too difficult to get a good reading to start. once the filter reads 011, the water cannot be used for anything. i'll go back to the Brita.

What - exactly - does this end-user mean by "cleaning the filter" & "cleaning the filter several more times"? Though one would assume that cycling tap or "pre-filtered" Brita® water (my personal method to extend Zero-Water® filter life, as the WSSC'S (Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission) tap water reads values as high as 450 ppm & the lowest was 392 ppm (roughly equivalent to 392 milligrams per liter; more than a full-sized aspirin tablet - for the ob/comp nit-pickers out there, I'm only counting the total amount of acetylsalicylic acid per tablet; not inert excipients also present.

A non-enteric coated aspirin tablet's mass is approximately 500 mg, likely due to binders & other excipients that enhance dissolution in stomach acid.).

Post-Brita®, the tap water was reduced in TDS from approx. 450 to about 150.

This water I then cycle through the ZeroWater® pitcher system. The end user's statement to the effect that water reading higher than 006 is "useless" is evidence of a faulty cognitive process; he/she can go back to their Brita® & values likely over 100 ppm post-filtering.

First, executives RARELY ever deal with customer complaints, that is why they have customer service departments. Plus if your complaint was done in English, it is no wonder, your English is poor and the complaint you raise makes no sense.

How many posts on here do you think are from the company that manufactures the Zero water pitcher? Does anyone have any data about the quality of Zero water other than the tester that the company ITSELF provides?

I have looked on the internet, and I could not find any kind of analysis on zero water. I am usually pretty good at finding information on the internet. Posts like, "tastes lemony", or "best filter hands down" give limited information.

Go the extra mile and try to find information on this subject. It is good to post your experiences, but a little research would not be a bad idea either.

Zerowater

Zerowater is a total ripoff. It only gave maybe 5 gallons of "0" water then the TDS went above my tap water and the water tasted terrible. They hook you in touting low TDS then you have to pay out of your nose for their filters. Plus the reservoir does not hold much water and it takes forever to filter through. Do not buy this piece of junk. Distilled water from your grocer is cheaper. I predict this *** will not sell as consumers are not *** and know when they are getting screwed. Junk, nothing but junk. Shame on you Zerowater.

Since late 2011, the filter design has changed and they don't last nearly as long. Zero Water is not willing to acknowledge this and told me that 2 weeks is acceptable, when I used to get 3 months minimum! 2 weeks in our household in the summer means 2 gallons per day x 14 days = 28 gallons. Completely unacceptable!

For sure, Zero Water implemented some cost saving measures in conjunction with the design change. Now the filter don't last as long so we need to buy them more often, at the same or higher price, and Zero Water's cost has been reduced. They are raking in the profits and we are paying for it with substandard performance.

I am switching to another brand ASAP.

#479774

I agree with Mike. I had 550ppm TDS, the zerowater filter registered 0 TDS nicely, and in less than 10 fillups, tds went up to 25 and the water is FOUL!!!!

i can live w/ the idea of rising TDS, BUT why did the water have to change taste? tap water taste better than low life filter.

#455300

Another ***..it does exactly what it states. If your water is highly mineralized you use more filters, my water is well over 300 ppm and I get about a month out of one filter and it filters slowly because of all the stages..it's not rocket science...

Zero Water is the Best Filter Available!

Zero Water has the best in home filters in the market with the best quality water! I've had my filter now for 6 months and the water has no smell and it tastes great...pure tasting water testing zero for contaminants! Seems to be a lot of trouble makers making false claims on here. Competitors maybe? This filter comes with a free digital water tester and I've tested my tap water, my old brita pitcher water, bottled water and a friend's well water. They all have a contaminant reading where Zero Water filters give is a zero contaminant reading as promised. I will never use another filter. It's healthy for us as fitness parents and for our children. We drink allot of water. Thanks Zero Water! Eric

I bought a zero water filter 1 month ago. Within the first week I was getting severe headaches.

I treated them and nothing worked. I have now had an MRI and Cat scan. Nothing is wrong.

I am convinced it's the filter. I am stopping usage to see if the headaches go away.
