Zerowater has zero customer service!

I ordered my system from shopnbc. The spickett was broken so it's leaked since I got it. customer service hours suck so all they do is send emails to a manager that hasn't responded in 10days (still counting). I'm returning the system and will not deal w/them again. Also it's quite possible that this system produces distilled water which is not healthy for us to drink removing the salts & minerals our bodies need. TDS=total dissolved solids. The word total meaning it removes all? Do research some solids are needed, a system that removes harmful materials only is what's needed!!!!

Poor value and performance for zerowater

I have had zero water for 3 years. The first pitcher was 8cup and it worked pretty well. I decided to buy another for our 2nd house. I have had the foul shrimp odor in the frig and the 2nd pitcher, a 10cup, came up with the sour--lemon type of taste. I only used the filter for a few months. I will try another filter, but seeing the prior posts, I think it may be time to toss it and go with another filter company. I would think twice before spending the big bucks for a Zerowater filter pitcher!!

WOW. Thank you for all the useful information you included in your post. I know everything I need to know about shopping for a pitcher filter now.

Zero water filter once the filter gets to around .30ppm will taste like shrimp... I don't understand it either, I need to take apart one as I can't find one disassembled on google.

I paid $39 plus tax for my 23 cup Zero Water unit at Target. The water tasted great for 9 days, then very acidic (sour). My 2 year old cried and spit it out...pretty nasty stuff. I figured I just got a bad filter, so I went back to Target and bought a 2 pack of new...

I have been using the zero water systems for years. Best water filtration I've seen (water purification specialist for 5 years).

The TDS (Total dissolved solids) built up in the filter (stopped from entering water).

Your cities current water filtration regulation for rural areas will determine the life time of the filter. If the TDS before filtration is around 500 you'll get a few months out of it if you drink about 64 oz a day.

Zero water

filters are totaly unpredictable ! for all same conditoins some goes 10 gallon some of them 40 gallons ... for the cooler top system I paid $ 70 and 2 pack filters 29.99 every time and I got very frustrated/upset about the performance difference negatively.! And costomer service does not care about your complaint ! It is total scam for only this reason I would say ! If a new water filter performs with 4 times less then normal under the same conditions for no reason ...there must be something wrong about the product this company makes and sells ! Zero Water Filters are total failure !! E.S. NJ

Same for me

I bought off on the deal too. Mine was working fine and then one day the water tasted really bad and the TDS was over 800.

the filter only lasted about 9 days.

No way I'm buying the replacement filter. It's cheaper to just go out and by bottled water.

On the bright side I did get a nice pitcher and a TDS meter.

I was happy with it at first. Although more expensive than other water filtrations systems, I did not mind because I liked the way the water tasted. After about 30-45 days usage, I noticed a foul fish like smell in my kitchen. I cleaned out the fridge and cabinets and...

Thanks! It is so incredible to finally find the answer to the fishy-smelling water.

The smell was making me mad! The omega-oil-like fishy-smell was worse after boiling, and I thought it was coming from my electric tea kettle. I came close to throwing it out when I decided to remove the kettle from the equation by boiling some water in the microwave.

The result was that it had the same fishy smell. I am throwing away my zero water system immediately and going back to PUR or just bottled water.
