Acidic as ***

Alrighty here we go: So I got my zero water filtration system a year ago after seeing the guys presentation about how healthy it is Because it eliminates all the TDS and yada yada yada. One of my best friends purchased a Kangen water system. Which cost like 4,000 dollars. Out of the blue he wanted to come over and just test the ph of the zero water. And what we just discovered has completely blown my mind! The Kangen system he has can produce pretty much whatever ph water you want, from 2.5 ph to 9.5. Came with ph strips and drops and a color schemes measuring chart so that you can see the ph levels of each level of water. He brought all that over. He brought 9.5, 6.0, and 2.5 and brought the drops over as well. We tested each of the waters he brought and all matched the color that it was supposed to be... the 2.5 is very acidic of course and its color was like *** in the morning after adding the drops. There was one more color passed the 2.5 and it was a very burnt orange color. The 2.5 was the next color up from that. When we tested the ZeroWater....its color matched the most acidic color on the chart. And I even changed the my zero water filter 3 days prior to this so it was in very good standing and had plenty of cycles ran through it because I mainly drink water all day long anyway. What we seen, Ill never be able to forget. I dont know how and I dont know why, but the ZeroWater is more acidic than you could believe. I would have defended the ZeroWater to my last breath if anyone tried to tell me it wasnt good. So it took our little experiment and seeing the results for myself to change my mind on it. Im throwing my ZeroWater in the trash and I will be purchasing the Kangen water system. Yeah its expensive but Id rather know Im good to go than to keep pouring that Zero *** down my throat thinking everything is ok. For all you fact checkers out there, if you know why this happened I would love to hear it. Whats crazy is that I tested the TDS in the 9.5 water and it read 117. So obviously not all TDS in water is bad for you. Im still shocked at what we found with this, Im not sure Ill ever get over it lol may need therapy LOL but there ya go. And if you dont believe me, go get ya some ph drops and drop it in your ZeroWater and see what you find out. The guys at ZeroWater didnt put anymore thought into anything after the fact of taking away all the TDS. Anyways, I just wanted to leave this little review so that everyone else who reads these reviews could get an idea of what theyre about to waste money on. Even the Tap water out of my sink wasnt near as acidic as the filtered water from the ZeroWater. It doesnt make sense, not in the least, but the proof is in the water. Do your own research on the matter....youll be as shocked as I still am right now!

I just purchased a Zero Water pitcher and Zero Water travel mug. I actually like my purchases. I actually was suggesting both of my daughters to buy your products. I offerec to share the coupon that was enclosed in my purchase. My daughter was enthusiastic about purchasing a pitcher. I was going to mail the coupon to her. Today I looked at the coupon. IT EXPIRED IN 2019!!! Why was it included in my recent purchase if it expired??? Zero Water made me look like a fool who wants to share an expired purchase. I think you owe me (and my daughter) a pitcher. FIX THIS.

Bad filter after just 3 weeks

After just 3 weeks of using the 40 cup system my filter needed to be replaced as i noticed a sour lemon taste. Absolute *** Zerowater makers! Thanks for taking all of these folks money too. Must be nice to be a crook and rip people off. To anyone who is thinking about buying this stay far away from it. What a damn joke!

My dog got sick from this filter

After a month of using the filter it over night got a flat soda water taste with some fruitiness to it. I had been giving the filtered water to my dog and hes now had diarrhea and vomiting for almost 24 hours. If you have this filter and taste anything of the sort do not give it to your animals!!!

Resolved: Update on issue

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement.

Original review Sep 11, 2020
It appears we received a faulty filter the purchase of a new pitcher. ZeroWater contacted us and agreed that it must be a defective filter and actually sent us 2 new ones to which we have had ( no pun intended) zero problems since. Good customer care goes a long way these days so they have my appreciation and faith in them to know they stand behind their products.

Water went bad taste like

Updated by user Oct 26, 2020

Well on October 25th the filter was showing at 50. Now October 26 it is showing 14.

I just put this new one in on October 16. At around $13 a filter (or more) this is expensive. I and my cat is using it.

I made soup with it. They either need to make it so it lasts longer, or bring the price down.

Updated by user Oct 16, 2020

I complained to zero water, they sent me a new filter. They explained that since I am in an area that the water is higer TDS level my filter will fail sooner then other areas around the USA.

Well my area is around 350 TDS. I got the new filter on September 26 and now it is October 15th and the filter went to 90. I tried to wait, as these filters are like over $12 each at Walmart.

Anyways that is only 3 weeks. If you live in Nevada, Arizona, California, Texas, North Dakota, or Indiana, be prepared to buy more filters, if this is your only way of filtering your water.

September 27 the next day, I noticed if I use valve, there will be minor leakage. I have to start play with the valve to make it stop.

My engineer boyfriend explained to me today that this type of valve flat surface valve, which is less costly, is similar to the old water coolers valves that had a drip trough under it. He said the valve will possibly seat in. He said there is a good chance most of these valves Zero Water is using on their product, will also periodically leak.

Zero water really should consider lever action valve, as it will avoid returns and angry customers. I would be willing to pay a couple of dollars more, to have a valve that is headache free and does not leak.

Updated by user Sep 26, 2020

I went back to Walmart to get another Zero Water devise to replace the bad I got on September 11. This was on September 26.

I filedl it with water, this time this devise on the valve was leaking. Frustrating!!! My boyfriend who is an engineer said the valve action was sticking and incorrect. He worked on it and seemed to free up and now it is not leaking.

He said that Zero Water is using a flat surface valve when they should be using a slightly radius surface. He said radius seals better.

Less chance of failure. All of this takes time. I wish Zero Water be more careful, in the quality of the product, and their filters not giving out bad water and lasting the time they quoted (3 to 5 months).

Original review Sep 26, 2020
I originally bought Zero Water on September 11, 2020 from Walmart. I was happy, the water tasted great and it showed zero. Then a week later, it would not flow down the filter. I took it out and put it back it. Then it started to work. I noticed the water was showing on the TDS number 2. I let that go. But today September 25th 2 weeks later, this filter tasted like nasty lemon juice, and the TDS is reading over 200!! Very disappointed. I do not care how dirty my city water is (350) according to Zero water the filter should last 3 to 5 months not 2 weeks. I tried calling customer service on a Friday, but they are not open till Monday.

My zero water tastes like it has lemon in it.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The reading on the stick still is at zero however, the last filter I used I changed because the water tasted acidy-sweet as if lemon had been added to it. I changed the filter and it went away. This new filter has been in only two weeks and the acidy tast is back. What is this and how can I resolve this issue. The filters are expensive and I don't want to change them this often.

Pros:
  • Quality of water and filter
Cons:
  • Smell after only 2 weeks
  • Overpriced

User's recommendation: Test your tap water first. If the reading is excessive, more frequent filter changes will be required.be

I don't have a single complaint except filters are kind of expensive. We go thru several gallons a day. I just tested it. I put a label on the top when I change it. Its been 2 months since I changed it and just now got to 6. I love it. I have bought others and they aren't nearly as good. Thank you so much Karen Nugent kmsnugent17@***.com

$40 at Walmart got me a week and a half of 000 TDS. After a week I noticed a strange acidic diluted lemon juice flavor pretty nasty and undrinkable. A few days later I checked the TDS of the filtered water and it was at 10 not zero.
