We got a zerowater filter set a little over a month ago, and after 3 to 4 weeks, the water started to give off a fishy smell -- and tastes "fishy" too (although the indicator showed that the water is still ok). The top layer --presumably activate carbon -- also started to come off bit by bit.

Why is that? Does it mean that the screen openings on the top are expanded? I do not see any sign of tear on the screen. I need to understand why is there such smell/taste, and is that normal?

I hope not, because I wouldn't want to use it, nor would I recommend to my family or my friends! One other thing I do not understand is that why does this text require a minimum of 100 words? It does not make sense. In today's world, people do not have the luxury of time to write long reviews...

conciseness is the point, or else it is a waste of time. Very Disappointedly yours, Simon Li

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $35.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Zerowater Response

Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us and we are sorry to hear of your experience. We will make sure that customer service reaches out to you in regards to this.

When you notice a difference in taste/smell this means the filter has been exhausted. Filter life depends on your household water consumption and the amount of TDS in you unfiltered tap water. We cannot determine if the filter failed prematurely as we have no indication of your tap water quality nor the daily water consumption. Additionally this sour taste is not harmful it is an indication that the filter has expired and should be replaced.

We would not suggest using expired filters. We will have customer service contact you to find out more information.
