Zerowater - Filter releasing particles

After a month of use, the filter started releasing some weird black and yellow particles and the water went up to 134, worst than the faucet. Tasted weird so had to discard and wait to buy a new filter to see if the life of filter is a month or that one was defective.
I drink at least one to two gallons a day.
Not sure if it's worth wasting so much money on something that will not last at least a month. bermud2002@***.com Haven't bought the new filter yet, waiting to see if could get a good deal in Walmart or Kmart if could find it there.

My first zero filter, and black particles in the water on first use. Then I read here that people replace their filter and get the same thing.
Fast way to lose a customer Zero.
Why would I blow my money on trying to make this work with a hope another one wont give the same problem? Bet most people like me won't.
I too have little black and gold particles in my Zero Water. But they are on the top section were you put the water in.
They are NOT in the water that you drink.
And it stil registers 000. I would say it's not a problem.

The yellow beads are ion exchange beads, so it's normal to see them inside the filter. Try rinsing out your reservoir, and in the future, don't pour water directly on top of the filter. If you still notice an issue, don't hesitate to contact customerservice@***.com
i noticed this yellow particles too, mind you we can drink this straight for the zero water. and for sure this yellow particles is not good in our body system.
Does anyone know what these yellow and black particles are? Are they toxic if you drink them? I have been noticing them and I am concerned I drank some of them without knowing it.
I loved zero water but I too notice the yellow & black particles in the water. I had to change the filter
I've had a Zero Water for a few years now and just like others recently have had this happen. I thought maybe I got a bad filter so I changed to a new one right away (I buy in pairs)and the same thing is happening again.
Personally I'm giving up and getting a new water pitcher from Soma.
It seems like it will truly and honestly work without putting junk in your water. Until than I have to buy water bottles again.
I've been using zero water for years, but with the new filter design, I'm having the same problem. My newest filter I started getting the black particles on the third use (second day).
Us too, the yellow and black particles. Also, the water smells real musty now.
Interesting that their customer support responds to positive posts but not the negative ones.
I'll probably buy a new filter, add the water more gently and pay closer attention to how long it lasts.
