I was buying these filters by the case because it worked and the water was great. Then one case of filters were shaped different and didn't filter the water, it was as if the filter was clogged.

I called tech support and they said to "poke *** into the top filter membrane - what is the problem here - this is a filter and that is supposed to be there. When that didn't work they told me to "poke *** in the bottom membrane - it worked some of the time but had a lot of problems with the water not filtering. I don't understand the older filters work wonderful - they must have changed something to make them cheaper...... Also when it came time to "recycle" the used filters I got the coupons for $5 and thought it would be $5 refund/filter, which would make it worth my while - BUT NOT!!!

It is $5/mailing. So I was going to get $5 for recycling case after spending $30 for shipping and about $120/case or $10/filter. What a RIP OFF.

I called and complained to see what help they could offer and they were like "SO, THAT'S THE WAY IT IS". They lost my business.

Monetary Loss: $500.

Contacted Zero Water customer service today. I have been having trouble with the new tapered bottom filters. My issue is with black and yellow granules coming out the top of the filter. If the pitcher is full, when you pour the granules will pour out of the holes. No matter how hard you try to stop them. So in my experience of trying to stop these gross yellow/black granules from coming out of the top of the reservoir, I discovered that no matter what, unfiltered water escapes into the glass. (Along with said granules). I am having to filter my filtered water. My Keurig is being ruined with these little granules. How healthy is it to be consuming these things?

So I call customer service. I am told too bad. No way to stop it from happening unless I want to fill a pitcher and slowly pour it into the top of the zero pitcher. Huh? Oh! Right, I can also fill glass after glass to pour into the filter-slowly. Do you have time for that? I was trying to fill a large animal reservoir. It would take me all day!

They then suggested I try another brand. I asked what I should do with the dozen or so new filters I have not used yet. I was told since I bought them over 90 days ago. (Duh! I bought about a dozen of them) they do not offer refunds. They would be happy to send me a shipping label and I could return them so they could keep them---but not return any money to me!!!!

It was also suggested that I sell them on eBay. Or Craigslist. Really!! Talk about customer service. Wow. I thought Amy was crazy. As I am talking to the supervisor and ask him a question, he doesn't answer. This happens a couple of times and I realize...he's not even listening!!! He only responds as I am yelling- Hello?? Then has the audacity to tell me he is listening to every word. Yeah. Right.

Someone needs to give this company a wake up call.

Recently had a tapered end replacement filter clog up, replaced it with another tapered end that was already clogged. Wife emailed Zero Water who replied saying sometimes they get air trapped in them & to poke holes in all the top screened openings & bottom opening. This was my reply to them:

"Sometimes" has now happened with both of the tapered ended filters. The first one worked fine for a few weeks. The second one, not so good from the get go. With pitcher nearly empty most of a quart would slowly filter thru, then stop. With maybe 2 quarts of filtered water in pitcher no more water would pass thu the filter.

Thought maybe it was something with the pitcher. Traded it out with the one in the refrigerator, and traded out new tapered filter with somewhat old square bottomed filter. That did not help. While doing this test, put square bottomed filter in plastic pan on shelf for a few days. Traded out tapered filter for older square bottomed filter (which now felt quite a bit lighter - guess it dried out, huh?). Old filter still works just fine! But you're saying both tapered filters "might" have air in them & that's why they're not working. Yah, right. Wanna try again?

Two curious things. Square bottomed filter was registering in the .030's when changed out. After sitting on shelf for days, filtered water now registered .001. Admittedly, about half the tested filtered water was from the tapered filter (which combined should've read about .015 +/-). The other curious thing. The 2 testers we have read differently on the same sample of water. Why is this?

They now say they are sending replacements. Told them to send the square bottomed ones as the tapered ones are a waste of time & money.
