I am a chemist and a polymer expert. I know what ion exchange is. I had the same sour/acidic taste experience with ZeroWater. It seems to me a design problem of this product. Background 1: What does a filter capture? Many other branded filters, such as Brita, DO...

Zerowater - "Gold" Particles
Like another reviewer, I had the gold not orange granules, a little black too, but mostly these tiny gold, round granules like grains of sand or salt, as you can see in the photo I have uploaded. They are coming up from the filter through the screen when you pour water...

Mine does this all the time. Every time we replace the filter it coughs up all these crystals. Even gold colored ones right out of the package.

I bought a zero water filter less than one month ago. My water read 000. Now, my Zero Water filtered water is measuring way worse than the water coming out of my tap. It also tastes acidic. I am considering going back to Brita.

I purchased the 10-cup pitcher for myself at work and was well-pleased enough to purchase the larger 30-odd cup refrigerator model for home. Perhaps tow days in, my son noted a lemony taste to the water. Shortly after, my older taste buds caught up. I cleaned the...
