I was an avid user for years, would test regular and filter always lasted for at least 20-30 gallons before going up to 40 reading on tester which is when I changed. (sometimes even lasted as long as 50 gallons)

About a year ago they started to develop a fishy smell, and now there is and acid ie weird taste after just a few gallons of use,

I had some filter which I had stored new for months, and when used they went bad within 6 gallons, so I went to the store and bought new zero brand filter thing maybe a bad batch,

I changed to new last week read zero, about 3 gallons later now reads over 375 I have good city water and it is not acceptable for the shortened live of the filter at this rate it is costing me about $5.00 per gallon, did the company change filter production to a low cost facility, and engineered so that that reads good the first few days, and then off the chart high unacceptable readings.

since I have used for years I tried several times with new filters, I am so disappointed and will go back to britas that read around 150 but remained at that for months and are much cheaper or look for a reliable alternative

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Better product production oversite and control.

Zerowater Cons: Product is sub standard.

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

It is too bad a good filter is no longer any good due to pure quality control. Zero offered to give me free replacement filters, I declined and advised them I do not want free worthless filters, I offer to test for them no response, and forwarded the other reported failures. It appears when companies ride on the past performance and fail to maintain the present standards we all lose

I am having the exact same problem. My wife and I have been using zerowater filters exclusively for well over a year.

Within the last few months, the water develops a very nasty taste after only a few gallons.

We will have to find an alternative. This is not acceptable.

The last two filters I bought are doing something very strange. Little small globular, gold beads, and some black flaky things have come out of the top of the filter.

I mean lots of them, and they have nearly filled the tub where tap water is placed for filtering. I have only made about 5 or 6 gallons with the last filter, and the reading is still 000. I have tried to use the "Contact" utility to get in touch with the Zero Water folks, though they have not yet responded.

I have not ever had this issue with filters in the past. I am not to the point, at least not yet, of wanting to change to another filter system, though if Zero Water personnel do not respond, I will.

I totally agree this is not acceptable. If you find a reasonable alternative please let me know at pilotbailsout@***.com or 831-250-**** so far the ones I research report quality problems.

I just ordered Dr.

Mercola, (counter top and under sink Prue and clean filter is new so no reviews yet) and using the tester I had from my zero filter, the results are not good, shows 456 after filtering, compared to tap water of 468 so far not promising, please advise if you find anything worthwhile. thanks Constance
