I believed the hype about zero water system. 2 days after I received the system the 23 cup pitcher starting dripping I called the company and the rep said they would send me a new pitcher.

That was 5 weeks ago and I didn't receive it. My first filter lasted about 7 days and then the water started to smell. I use the water for drinking and making coffee only. I checked the number on it and it was way high!

I had only made about 9 gals of water by then. So I changed the filter. I used that for about a three days and the tray that holds the filter was full of black charcoal powder. I washed the tray and pitcher and put it back together.

The next morning when I used it to filter my coffee water I had the awful smell again. I plan on going back to bottled water.

How many posts on here do you think are from the company that manufactures the Zero water pitcher? Does anyone have any data about the quality of Zero water other than the tester that the company ITSELF provides?

I have looked on the internet, and I could not find any kind of analysis on zero water. I am usually pretty good at finding information on the internet. Posts like, "tastes lemony", or "best filter hands down" give limited information.

Go the extra mile and try to find information on this subject. It is good to post your experiences, but a little research would not be a bad idea either.

I know this post is old but I didn't believe the water was actually 0 either. Luckily I work in a chemistry lab that analyses water and ran tap water and filtered zerowater through my IC and looked at anions.

Anions were present in the tap water and were undetectable in the zerowater sample.

So it in fact does filter out elements. My instrument limits range from 0.01 to 0.1ppm.

I just purchased the Zerowater and so far I don't like it. I realize where I live, in OC, California...my water reads in the 300's.

I sometimes drink it, if it's cold enough...hey, I need water. Anyway, I usually drink Spring Water and that reads 120. Anyway, I ran my water through the filter oh at least 4 gallons worth. I let it sit...I drank some.

It made me feel sick...so I ran more water through it, now it's leaving a film. Granted it read 300's with a nasty taste and my son said he smelled fish. Maybe it's just a bad filter all together. But I will get a new filter and maybe more.

I am an aggressive person when it comes to getting what I paid for. I bought this at a thrift store...new. Paid only $20, maybe it's true you get what you pay for. In any case, I sent a letter to the company.

Stay tuned! Now I have a broken cover, that I have had to *** more than once...oy vey.

I have to call them...like I said stay tuned. And for those that are disheartened, keep trying and chin up life could be worse :)

I have had my filter for a month. My tap water is only 56 on the TDS meter.

My filter is still doing well, reading zero, even after refilling the big tank at least once a day, some days, twice for a month. I use it for everything; cleaning veggies, dog water, (she loves it and drinks twice as much water), cooking noodles, watering house plants, coffee and tea.

The lid does not fit properly, but I just set a heavy rock on it to hold it down. I figure they'll work out manufacturing gliches soon enough.

I have had a couple of complaints about the filters and after talking to their customer service, I was PROMPTLY sent replacement filters. I told them I went through 3 filters trying to get the system to work and that is what they sent me.

I was given the shipping information and had received my filter replacements at NO COST to me, since I already paid for these once and they didn't work.

The filters worked great in each place I have lived, and like other report, if you are in an area where the TDS levels are naturally high, then you go through filters much faster.

You can always opt for bottled water, but most of the bottled water is only filtered by 2-3 stage filters and in reality is NOT better than what you get with ZERO WATER. The difference is that you get to pay the price whether it is filters or the bottled water.

Used my filter for one month. Then the water started developing a taste that could only be described as similar to citric acid.

Very sharp.

Tested it with the meter and the water coming out of the pitcher was over 300 ppm! My tap water tests at 150 ppm (avg).

I care about what the water tastes like, and what it smells like. Why would the filtered water smell and taste like that if it is good for You?

I checked the map to see what the filter life was before I purchased it, it registered for 30 gals, but I only got 9 gallons.

This is my experience, and you had yours. Enough said.

Doubt it is just hype. Good Housekeeping just pegged it as the best filter in a big article discussing the dangers of tap water.

5 stage filters are better than 3 (Pur) and both are better than Brita. The whole idea of filtered water is not taste, if it were, go with Brita and continue to drink the contaminants that remain in tap water. I'm not saying that taste isn't important, but well-filtered water will taste better anyway. As for complaints about filter life, stop complaining and start thinking.

If you live in an area where there are high levels of contaminants of course the filter won't last as long. On the upside, for the time it does last, you are getting much cleaner water which is what you should be concerned about. Not concerned about contaminants, pharmaceuticals, pesticide runoff, lead, etc. in your water than by all means don't use a really good filter, but don't complain about the fact that the filter doesn't last so long.

I've never used Brita.

I was very suspicious that the advertising spoke mostly about water taste rather than filter quality, and according to the GH tests in their article, I was right to be suspicious. I have always used Pur, glad to see it is very good, but I am now planning to switch to ZW which is even better.

They claim they send rebate coupons out if you register. They do not.

No email, no Snail Mail...I even sent back 2 filters for recycling where they claim they will send you a $10 coupon...no such thing. We are looking at filing a class action law suit against them for false advertising of rebates.

I got very sick; after my girlfriend got very sick from using this filter. Please forward any information you have to me so I can be On your class action suit.

It should include being poisoned also.

I am going to the hospital now. This is the worst food poisoning I've ever had.

The filters are still too expensive for the amount of water they filter.

WHERE can I buy a new Zero water pitcher in No, KY?

My new one has a crack running from bottom to top. I called your company several weeks ago, and was told they would send me a new one. A box came a few days later with a LID -no pitcher.

Wallmart does not carry them any more.

The ZeroWater filter removes all of the TDS in your water in a way that no other filter can compare. If you test other filters as well, you will only get ZERO readings with ZeroWater Filters.

Unfortunately for customers in high TDS areas that means no matter the brand, your filters will expire more quickly than customers in low TDS areas. People in lower TDS areas can go through a lot of water before reading above zero. Again, you will only get the ZERO reading with ZeroWater filters due to the 5-Stage Ion Exchange Technology that you will only find in their water pitchers versus the 2 or 3-stage filters in the other brands. They have discounted the large case packs on Zerowater.com so us customers in high TDS areas can take advantage of a per filter price of $9.99 when we order a 16-pack, and you also receive free S&H.

It's a Win-Win.... you get your tap water filtered like no other filter and a special filter price for the 16-pack. Try using your TDS water tester on other brand filters for comparison. I did!

And there is no comparison. Zerowater wins hands down!
